Over the years, many studies have been conducted on the safety and the benefits of using processed and inorganic beauty products, and even though many people believe that the almost immediate effects of making use of such products make using them worth-while, studies are beginning to show that it is not all so good when using highly processed soaps and body care items.
So what are the dangers of using inorganic beauty products?
After doing some research we found that by making use of inorganic and highly processed beauty products you are exposing your body to a whole host of potential problems which range from a weakened immune system to something as bad as cancer.
How is this possible?
Your skin is a living organism and is able to absorb the environment around us, for example when we are outside in the sun or skin is taking in the Vitamin D3 which we get from the sun, by the same right when we use soap to wash our bodies our skin takes in some of the chemicals which are in the soap or soaps, some of the chemicals listed below have the following effects on our bodies,
- Benzaldehyde – This chemical can cause your immune system to weaken and causes dizziness, nausea and in some cases vomiting if inhaled.
- Benzyl Acetate – This chemical causes eye and lung irritation and is linked to pancreatic cancer.
- Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) – This chemical is known as a mutagen which means that it has the ability to mutate your skin cells, which is not a good thing and on top of it being able to mutate your cells, SLS also eats away at you fatty acids in your skin which stops your skin from being able to maintain its moisture.
- Ethanol – Ethanol is a chemical found in alcohol and is also on the EPA’s list of hazards materials.
We could go on and on about the number of dangerous chemicals found in these products and the effects of each of the chemicals will always be the same, a hazard to your body.
Is there an alternative?
Yes, there is and the alternative is to switch over to organic soap.
Organic soaps are made from ingredients that don’t contain herbicides or pesticides which means that they will not contain any of the chemicals listed above nor will they have a harmful effect on your skin.
For people with sensitive skin it is a good idea to make use of organic soaps as if you often receive allergic reactions to traditional soap then in most cases, organic soap will remove the negative effects of those soaps and if they don’t they will at least lessen the effect that the soap has on your body.
Another key feature of organic soaps is that they are made from glycerin which acts as a skin moisturizer meaning that your skin will always be smooth and hydrated.
If you are looking to buy organic soap you can find the soap in your local health shop or online.
